| On Tuesday the 21st of October we shall NOT meet as usual in the
small hall of the Normandy Village Hall, simply because the whole hall
is being used unfortunately by another organisation. We shall meet, therefore,
in the Normandy Cricket Club, Hunts Hill Road at 8pm to welcome
Joan Mant of Guildford, who will give her talk on "Suffragettes"
- her talk material will be suitably displayed for your interest.
Although the membership year is closing-in fast the subscription rates
at £3:00 for an individual and £7:50 for a family membership
remains good value for money to the end of this year. There is no elective
process or joining fee required for new members and subscriptions can be
paid at this meeting.
Whether you are a new member or a visitor for the evening you can be
assured of a warm welcome. It would come as no surprise to me for you
to meet at least one familiar face. Anyhow, all are welcome to any of
our meetings with free admission for members and children, but there will
be a small charge of £1:50 for non-members.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 8pm but light refreshments are
available from about 7.45pm. This arrangement provides the opportunity
for members to meet and have a chat before introducing our speaker and
of course to view the speaker's talk material. Meetings seldom go beyond
10pm
What will be normal, however, is that copies of Jack Kinder's book "A
History of Normandy Park in Surrey" will be available for sale at
£9:50 each also our very popular CD-Rom - a replicated version of
"A Century of Normandy in Surrey", which is held at surprisingly
at £7:50.
